I Wish This Was – Orem

Yesterday was an exciting day! I filed my letter of intent to be considered by the Orem City Council to fill the vacancy left by the passing of Mayor Jerry Washburn.

Chris Nichols launching I Wish This Was in ProvoEarlier this year I had the unique opportunity to work with Provo Mayor John Curtis on an interesting campaign called “I Wish This Was”. I stumbled across this campaign last year on a business trip to New Orleans. You can learn more about it by visiting my blog post about Candy Chang and her initiative.  You can also read the Daily Herald article about the Provo event.

Provo Residents at I Wish This WasOrem has been very fortunate to have many great businesses, shops and restaurants located within its boundaries. This has been a great economic boom to our city. But we also have some vacant locations waiting for the right businesses to come. What better way to involve our residents and help vacant property owners know what kind of opportunities to pursue than using the “I Wish This Was” campaign.

I look forward to making this a reality here in Orem!
