In case you’ve been hiding under a rock recently, Facebook is changing up their layout to the Timeline design, which affords you the opportunity to play with a whole new photo canvas called the ‘Cover Image”. To learn all of the details about this new cover image feature you can visit Facebook’s Official Cover Image Page. Essentially the cover image is 833 pixels wide by 310 pixels high. Your profile picture will remain overlaid on the bottom left hand corner of the cover image.
It’s easy to add a cover image by simply clicking the “add a cover” button in your timeline and either select from existing images or upload a new one. There is another way to help you make your cover image cool by using MyFBCovers to tweak and adjust the picture to fit your design needs. Their app allows you to resize, position, rotate etc. They also include the layout of the profile picture in the bottom left which helps you line up your cover image if you are trying to tie the two together.
