As many of you know I will be serving as the 2011 President of the Utah County Association of REALTORS (UCAR). One of my key challenges this next year will be raising REALTOR Political Action Committee (RPAC) funds. These funds are used to promote the election of candidates who are pro-property rights. REALTORS take this cause very seriously because they understand the importance of private property rights especially in relation to our overall freedom.
To make this challenge a little more fun and exciting this next year, and hopefully garner more support and involvement, I’m going to do something a little different. I’m going to POUND RPAC like it’s never been pounded before. Starting November 2010, UCAR will begin a pledge drive to collect RPAC funds based on…. the number of pounds I can lose between now and my 40th birthday on July 26, 2011. I currently weigh 230 lbs and the goal is for me to crack the 200 lbs barrier, a feat that last occurred about 13 years ago.
I know I am not going to reach the stellar physique of our current UAR state president, Kenny Parcell (see right) But, I am going to lose these 30 lbs by my birthday, and hopefully raise some serious RPAC funds in the process. Pledges will be accepted via the President Pounds RPAC page at the UCAR site which will be launched in November. Please pledge generously for each pound I lose and hold me accountable for this 200 lbs goal! I am looking forward to a great 2011 with the Utah County Association of REALTORS!
