First off – HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
The number one seems to hold some very special significance, as it is essentially the starting point. And here we are on 1-1-11 the start of a new year and a new decade. There’s a whole lot of ones in that date… maybe the universe is trying to tell you something – It’s time to start something!
One of the biggest challenges to starting something is the actual “starting”! We tend to plan to plan to plan. I spent much of my time in 2010 sharing the Social Media message with REALTORS® throughout my state. There was one person in particular who attended several of my classes. Each time I would ask them how their Social Media journey was coming, and every time the answer was the same – “I’m almost ready to start.”
In the last several days some of my good friends on Twitter posted some great thoughts:
This reoccurring theme I’ve found amongst my Twitter friends is that it’s time to get #CRACKING and start doing vs. talking about doing! I think maybe Nike was on to something when they said “Just Do It”!
Many of you are familiar with @GaryVee‘s infamous #CRUSH tag from his book “Crush It“. Some of you might be less familiar with rapper Eminem’s phrase, “Stacking Ammo”. In Eminem’s studio are boxes of ideas and thoughts he’s collected, from which he grabs inspiration to START his next project.
My good friend @ProfessionalOne (a constant source of inspiration and collaboration) came up with a combination of the two:
